Wood Lane School
Wood Lane offers a unique approach to the flexibility required in providing services for students with special needs from birth through age 22.
In addition to class room staff, children also receive services as designated by their individualized educational program (IEP) that may include: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Community Education, Music, Behavior Supports, Service Coordination, adaptive physical education, nursing, transportation, communication and language development, social interaction, vocational training and job development.
Each class is made up of six to eight students. Each class has one certified teacher and one classroom aide to meet the needs of each student. One-to-one assistants are hired on an as needed basis for individuals who need direct staff assistance on an intensive level. The staff/student ratio is low to meet the physical, medical and educational needs of the children served by Wood Lane.
School staff in conjunction with Community Employment Services of Wood Lane provides vocational training and job development for student’s transition from school to work.
