Wood Lane’s fleet of vans and buses give children and adults the opportunity to go to and from school, work, or community-based activities. Children in Wood Lane’s early intervention program also travel on buses to the Jordan Family Development Center. Vehicles also provide transportation to and from Special Olympics events and other field trips.
A driver and a vehicle aide accompany riders on bus trips. All buses and many of the vans are equipped with lifts for individuals who use wheelchairs.
Eligible students from 15 school districts utilize Wood Lane’s bus service.
The Transportation Department has an excellent safety record. The Ohio State Highway Patrol inspects buses twice a year to ensure that vehicles meet state safety standards. Wood Lane mechanics maintain all vehicles on a daily basis.
Wood Lane staff provide presentations for children on bus safety. Staff can also provide programs to local school districts about disability awareness and it’s relationship to transporting individuals who have a disability.For more information:
